Dedication Day for Palmetto Park
Sunday afternoon was a time of celebration for staff, residents, families, and friends of Baptist Retirement Communities of Georgia. The dedication service for Palmetto Park was held in the spacious new dining hall of Baptist Manor and Garrison Personal Care. On hand to participate in the happy event were three famous faces among Baptist people: Former Executive Director/Treasurer of Georgia Baptist Convention and founding father of Baptist Retirement Communities, Dr. Searcy Garrison was given a seat of honor along with his gracious bride Mrs. Antoinette Garrison. Dr. Jim Griffith, Executive Director-Treasurer Emeritus of the Georgia Baptist Convention wrote and led the dedicatory Covenant. Dr. Griffith was accompanied by his lovely wife Mime. The present Executive Director of our Georgia Baptist Convention, Dr. J. Robert White brought the dedicatory message.
President, CEO of Baptist Retirement Communities of Georgia. Miss Laura Willis recognized the many past and present board members who attended the ceremony. Miss Willis remarked that this new community is the very first community that Baptist Retirement Communities has been able to design and build from conception to completion which gave the opportunity for special needs and desires to be addressed.
Assistant Administrator and Director of Activities for Clairmont Crest, Mrs. Zelda Kennedy Ridley, thrilled the audience with two solos—The Lord’s Prayer and Bless This House. Following the program refreshments were enjoyed by all and residents invited everyone to tour their beautifully decorated homes.
