Clairmont Crest Celebrates Grandparents' Day

Saturday September 6, 2003 was a day set aside for some serious celebrating at Clairmont Crest. Residents were invited to a Grandparents Tea hosted by Mrs. Zelda Ridley, Assistant Manager and Activities Director. This event was one designed to capture the heart and interest of proud Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Godparents as all were encouraged to come to the event armed with favorite pictures and memories. The tables were arranged to show off displays of loved ones in groups or as individuals. Each participant had the opportunity to show his or her pictures then share a short story or two about the children ( some are now quite grown up but still hold favored positions in the hearts and minds of Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Godparents).

Tea, lemonade and cookies added a festive touch to the event. The atmosphere of the gathering room was warm, congenial, and pleasant. Ooos and Ahaas as well as hearty chuckles could be heard throughout the afternoon. What better way can you imagine to celebrate such a special day than to have the undivided attention of your peers as you are given the golden opportunity to expound upon and demonstrate the wonderful attributes of “ Your” special child!
