November 2005

Celebration

Thursday, November 10, 2005 was a day of special recognition and celebration at Baptist Manor. November marked the 20th anniversary of employment with Baptist Retirement Communities for Administrator, Rosetta Johnston. The board of trustees recognized Mrs. Johnston and presented her with a shadow box plaque stating their appreciation for such long and loyal service.

Following lunch with the Trustees Mrs. Johnston was honored with a reception which was attended by trustees, BRC administration and Baptist Manor, Garrison Personal Care, and Garden Cottages’ employees and residents. Laura Willis, President of BRC presented Mrs. Johnston with a lovely keepsake clock, engraved with her years of service, and a check. Mrs. Johnston said friends, employees and residents made her day special with many well wishes and gifts. The numerous bouquets of roses of varying colors and mums will provide a lasting sweet-scented memory.

Residents and employees of Clairmont Crest are busy making preparations for their annual Thanksgiving celebration. This year the community is gathering for an evening meal and good fellowship at the brand new multipurpose Dekalb County Center. The meal will be catered by BRC and the evening’s entertainment planned by Clairmont Crest Activity Director and Assistant Administrator, Mrs. Zelda Ridley. The event is held the Thursday prior to Thanksgiving to allow for more intimate family celebrations on Thanksgiving Day.
