Garrison Personal Care Has New Manager
Mrs. Eileen Abney has been appointed new manager for Garrison Personal Care. Mrs. Abney was promoted from Assistant Manager following the resignation of the former manager. It was her exemplary role as interim manager that prompted senior management to ask her to take the manager’s role permanently.
Prior to her employment with Baptist Retirement Communities Mrs. Abney worked for Bank South as an Assistant Vice President in the funds management area. She says she became interested in Assisted Living/ Personal Care when her father-in-law suffered a stroke and moved into an assisted living facility in his hometown in Michigan.
Her experience with the bank provided Mrs. Abney some excellent decision-making skills and management savvy. Her experience as a family member enables Mrs. Abney to be empathetic with residents and their families. Her own energetic personality and keen interest in the elderly and all associated issues, however, combine with these skills to make her a successful manager. Exhibiting a quick wit and easy congenial manner, she is favorably received by residents, family members and staff.
Mr. Charles Abney, Eileen’s husband of 29 years, is an air traffic control specialist.
