Baptist Inn and Garrison Personal Care Begin the Preparation for Relocation
Final papers have been signed with Wal-Mart closing the sale of property whereon Baptist Inn and Garrison Personal Care Baptist Retirement Communities are located. Agreement has also been reached with the Georgia Baptist Children’s Homes and Family Ministries to purchase land for the relocation of Baptist Inn and Garrison Personal Care.
Plans for the new buildings are now being finalized. Current residents and staff made many suggestions that were incorporated in the plans. Apartments will be more spacious and contain more amenities. All the rooms for the new Garrison Personal Care will be private accommodations which is the more popular choice. There will be storage available for overflow or off-season items. Community washers and dryers are programmed for each floor. The new community will have two stories, with lobbies or gathering rooms on each floor. Offices, dining, activities, and a lovely chapel and comfortable library will be on the first floor. There will be a beauty shop and spa on the second floor.
In addition to the large building housing Baptist Inn and Garrison Personal Care, there will be at least 20 garden apartments surrounding the lake which Baptist Inn and Garrison face. We envision attractive walking trails, pleasant benches and gardens for our residents to enjoy. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, inviting one to partake of nature’s pleasures all year long.
Our anticipated move date is summer, 2005. Before then we will have drawings and pictures to display. As completion nears, tours will be provided for residents to view their beautiful new home site. As with our prior relocations, moving expense will be paid and arranged by Baptist Retirement Communities.
