Happy New Year!
Baptist Retirement Communities eagerly and enthusiastically greet 2005! At Baptist Inn and Garrison Personal Care residents and staff are counting the days until their new community in Palmetto will be ready for them. As construction nears completion the dreams of more space, shining new accommodations, and a quiet peaceful setting seem a near reality.
Plans are underway for furniture placement, and decisions are being made about what to take to the new community, what to leave behind, and what to purchase new. This spring will bring with the new season a flurry of packing and moving. The projected date for relocation is June 2005. From today’s January 2005, the time is now a short wait.
Meanwhile Clairmont Crest is taking a brief rest following a full and fantastic celebration of Christmas and New Year. Decorations have been removed once more to storage and the pace has slowed a bit from the round of parties, plays, and excursions. The close of the year marked the close of the term of employment for Clairmont Crest administrator Mrs. Jerry Morrone who retired to begin a new phase of her life. Residents, staff and friends helped to celebrate this event with Mrs. Morrone with an afternoon reception during which staff presented Jerry a beautiful rocking chair and management recognized her service to Baptist Retirement Communities.
A new administrator will soon assume the leadership of this community; meanwhile Mrs. Zelda Ridley, Assistant Administrator and Director of Activities will be available for all resident concerns. Whoever might dare to say life was sedate or dull in a retirement community obviously has never visited one of our Baptist Retirement Communities!
