Baptist Inn Residents Begin The New Year With
Forty Days of Purpose
Sometimes the days just after Christmas and New Year are a bit depressing as people struggle to adjust to a drastic decrease in activity. The residents of Baptist Inn are in no danger of such an experience. They began a vigorous and challenging Bible study this first Sunday of the New Year.
Mr. Bob Baker, a member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro, teaches a Sunday School class every Sunday at the Baptist Inn chapel for those residents who do not go out to attend community services. This is a usual gathering of 30 – 40 persons. Jonesboro First Baptist has been most generous with time and volunteers to enrich the lives of our Baptist Inn residents. This new study promises to very well keep that tradition.
First Baptist Jonesboro along with thousands of other churches around the world just recently completed a six week study of the best seller book written by Pastor Rick Warren of Saddleback Church in California.
The PURPOSE DRIVEN Life is a daily
devotional study guide designed to lead the reader through forty days of discovering one’s personal purpose for being and learning how to practically live out that purpose in everyday life. Churches who have participated in this emphasis have reported dramatic
spiritual impact and growth. So it was with First Baptist Jonesboro as they completed their campaign.
Mr. Baker wanted his friends at Baptist Inn to share this wonderful experience so he decided to lead his Sunday School class in the study. Sunday, January 4, 2004 was the first session. Our residents have embarked on an exciting adventure for the New Year!
