Baptist Inn Scores 100 on County Food Service Inspection Report

How many of us would have rejoiced at a grade of 100 when we were submitting our work for inspection to school Professors? Daresay all of us would have enjoyed such a report.

This past month Baptist Inn Retirement Community, located in Stockbridge, Georgia withstood the scrutiny of Henry county’s health inspector and emerged with a top grade of 100%! All places that prepare and serve food must undergo monthly inspections to ascertain that they are sanitary and safe environments. The workers are observed for proper food handling techniques and all facilities within and around the kitchen are inspected for cleanliness and adherence to county regulations. Some components of the survey are food preparation and storage, hygiene practices of personnel, temperature controls (hot foods must be hot, cold cold, and appropriate storage and serving temperatures for maximum safety maintained). All equipment must be in good working order and cleaned according to standards. Water temperatures for dishwashing must be as dictated by the sanitary regulations to remove threat of disease or contamination. Garbage and refuse disposal must also meet the standard. Finally, Sewage and plumbing are examined for proper working order and safety.

This is a through and extensive process done with the goal in mind to provide safe food and prevent the spread of disease that can so easily occur if unsanitary conditions exist in a food service department. Your local television broadcasts the ratings of area restaurants. Some establishments have suffered embarrassment and even faced closing due to poor performances during such health inspections. We are very proud of the members of our dietary department at Baptist Inn Retirement Community, who also provide the meals for Garrison Personal Care on the same campus. We salute you for an outstanding job!
