Baptist Inn

In May, 1981, the trustees of Georgia Baptist Homes (former name of Baptist Retirement Communities) sold the Peachtree on Peachtree Inn in Atlanta, where ministry had been since 1967, and established a new independent living community on 72 acres south of Atlanta in Stockbridge, Georgia (at the intersection of I-75 and Hudson Bridge Road). An existing Safari Inn was converted to provide studio apartments for 165 seniors. As need increased 20 freestanding apartments were added to the campus as well as a 47-bed, assisted living area called the Garrison Personal Care Home, named for Dr. Searcy Garrison.

This facility served this area of Georgia until its sale in 2004 and the completion of Palmetto Park with Baptist Manor independent living and Garrison Personal Care. Many of the residents of the Baptist Inn were moved to Palmetto Park.
